I care about efficient computation. From smartphones to sensor networks, designing energy-efficient architectures and systems is crucial to enabling the computation we need with the energy we have.
As the Internet of Things (IoT) becomes reality, billions of tiny devices will be scattered among the world around us, silently and transparently sensing their environment. For systems the size of a grain of rice to function reliably for decades requires extreme attention to energy-efficiency. The goal is to use intelligent architectures to make maximal use of the limited energy reserves available for these devices.
